1920's Fashion

After the First World War, the Great War as they were called it, not knowing the future, social and economic developments completely changed the role of women and have appeared revolutionary innovations in women’s clothing art in general and aesthetics.
Movements such as Bauhaus and Constructivism acted as a catalyst in the development of contemporary art in all areas.

In 20’s women are becoming independent. It is the period of so-called flapper girls who live intensely. The flapper slang word that describes a young woman is supposed to be a young bird that beats its wings while learning to fly….

A fashionable flapper had short smooth hair, chest level, wore bright makeup, smoking a long pipe, exposed edges and embodied the spirit of recklessness dancing the nights in the era of jazz music.

The dresses were straight, leaving the arms bare with drop waist to hips. The chest was pressed, the waistline disappeared shoulders and highlighted hair became increasingly short.

In 20’s the narrow boyish style prevailed and womanly curves were eliminated. The line of clothing became simpler and the short hair sometimes straight and other wavy.
Their eyes were very accented with black shadows on the upper and lower lid and their lips were dark and intense.
Also, in 1920 the corset repealed giving even more freedom and for the first time  you could see the naked legs.

The shoes were comfortable to serve them in dance and the hats fits perfectly to the head until the eyebrows giving prominence to their haircuts.
